Do you have any spare time throughout the week? And would you like to use it to gain experience, develop skills and meet new people while supporting a wonderful charity? Then we have the role for you!!! Sue Ryder provides incredible hospice and neurological care for more conditions than any other UK charity Our shops raise millions of pounds each year to help us deliver care in our UK centres, and as a volunteer you’d be directly contributing to this. This role is to help us out in the stockroom. We receive bags and bags (and bags!) of donations each day-and that is absolutely fantastic. The more stock we have, the more money we can make-however, donations need a lot of sorting before they can be sold, and this role is to do just that. You’d be accepting donations, sorting out ones which we can claim gift aid on and ones we can’t. You’ll be picking out high-end items and noticing if something might be valuable, and also making sure that only the best quality stuff makes it onto the shop floor. If you want to, while your with us we’ll help you gain an NVQ in customer Service and/or Retail. We’ll also give you a reference . The commitment can be you like really, but ideally we’d love you to commit to a regular 4 hour shift as a minimum. This role is quite flexible, but we do need you to be reliable. You’ll be: - in the back of the shop, looking after the stockroom -Rummaging through donations, looking for the best items to sell -tagging and hanging items, labelling bric-a-brac and maybe helping with pricing if you like. - volunteering alongside a team of volunteers to sort donations, keep the shop stocked up. - providing excellent customer service. - helping us to collect as much Gift Aid as possible. - working alongside a great team who will help you enjoy your role, provide you with access to some great training, and generally welcome you into the Sue Ryder family.

This opportunity is for anyone, however some manual handling and lifting may be required. Full training will be given.
