We are seeking a Treasurer who will also act as an Executive member and Trustee. Our purpose is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.What will you be doing?Manage and monitor the financial activities of the Group and its Sections and Executive CommitteePrepare and present financial reports and accounts to the Executive CommitteeLeading the Executive Committee in the creation of budgets and and financial planning and monitoring of theseEnsuring that all financial reports, annual statements of account and supporting documents are maintained accurately in accordance with legal regulationsEnsuring that the Group is financially able to function, has appropriate reserves and accounting controls and procedures in place.Prepare the Annual Statement of Accounts for independent examination and approval by the Executive Committee and presenting these at the AGMAdministering the process of Independent Examination of the Annual Statement of Accounts in accordance with Policy, Organisation and RulesTo be a full and active participant in Executive Committee meetings and activitiesTo uphold the responsibilities of an Executive Committee as outlined in the Scout Association’s Policy, Organisation and RulesWillingness and eligibility to act as a Charity Trustee for the GroupContribute to the strategic aims and future development of the GroupWhat are we looking for?Accountancy/Auditing and Financial ManagementStrong organisational SkillsAbility to work as part of a teamAble to think creatively and solve problemsPrevious experience of financial management or the role of Charity TreasurerAble to analyse financial information effectivelyGood IT skillsAbility to summarise financial information for different audiencesWilling to speak one’s mind and listen to the views of othersAble to maintain independent and objective judgementWhat difference will you make?The role of Treasurer is critical to us, not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future and create a lasting legacy.Before you applyPlease apply through Reach in the first instance.
