This exciting role leads the Visitor Operations Teams at Kew, responsible for the leadership, training and coaching of the visitor facing teams and services that they provide to Kew’s 2 million visitors each year. This role primarily focuses on delivery of the daily visitor operation at each of the four entrance gates, and across key attractions and locations across the Gardens including the Kew Explorer, The Children’s Garden, and seasonal visitor programmes.

Visitor Operations Team Leaders work as part of a Leadership Team, responsible for ensuring customer service excellence, revenue generation and secondary spend, and ensuring a safe environment for visitors and staff. They will work on a duty management roster basis, which will include weekends and bank holidays, as well as early and late shifts in line with opening hours of the Gardens.

About you

Successful candidates will be excited by the opportunity to work in a fast paced and everchanging outdoor environment. They will have proven experience of leading customer focused teams with high customer volumes within a similar venue to Kew, such as a visitor attraction, botanic garden, heritage venue, leisure or retail environment. Candidates will display a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving as part of a team, and adopt an inclusive approach to team working. They will have a passion for training and coaching teams, and championing a growth mindset in their day to day work. In addition to the above, experiences in ticketed venues and in cash handling are of real value in this role.

Finally, candidates will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role in order to drive vehicles on site including the Kew Explorer land train.
