Job Description

  • Develop strong capability to implement data led thinking into all aspects of the organisation
  • Lead a busy and vibrant Data and Analytics team comprising of engineers, data scientists, analysts, and governance personnel
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels from C-level, VP’s and downwards
  • Accountability for Abcam’s data, designing and developing solutions within that space accordingly
  • Create and lead the new stage of our ambitious Data and Analytics strategy
  • Build and run new and current Data platforms and tools
  • Creating and lead the analytics community, enabling other business functions to maximise the effectiveness of data and for Abcam to become a leading data driven organisation
  • Identify opportunities for ML/AI capability within Abcam across all different domains (Customer, Enterprise, Science)

Qualifications

  • An inspiring leader – managing and mentoring a team of data and analytics experts. With a demonstrable track record of leading similar functions
  • Be a highly capable leader with the ability to establish clear strategy that can inspire others to deliver and influence to drive change across the organization.
  • Possess a demonstrable track record of using machine learning to deliver significant business benefits
  • An expert data governance leader
  • Be culturally sensitive and have significant experience of working with international partners both on and offshore
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and influence global cross functional teams or work with stakeholders
  • Be highly organised, commercially aware, analytical, results-oriented, committed, agile and audacious
  • Have strong International experience gained in several territories
