We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter to join AXA Global Healthcare within our International Large Corporate Pricing team. The team is an integral part of the new AXA Global Healthcare company, pricing international healthcare schemes within AXA. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to progress their career within pricing/underwriting, in a role that is both challenging and rewarding.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the risk assessment and underwriting of our International large corporate healthcare schemes and will provide technical pricing support to the sales account managers and international Partners for new business quotations and renewals.
  • Manage the pricing and overall profitability of a portfolio of international business whilst also maintaining accurate records of pricing activity and negotiations with internal and external clients.
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to liaise regularly with the retention and new business teams and build strong working relationships with them, as well as working with many other departments.

What we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge of the International PMI market and general commercial awareness.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with developed influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Able understand any potential risks to our business.
  • Numerically articulate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Well versed in identifying trends in data, a true problem solver.
  • Advanced organisational skills and highly efficient.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
