AXA UK are looking for a talented Release Manager to lead the technical delivery of our products and achieve a seamless flow of software releases throughout the development lifecycle, through to production and early life support. At AXA we are adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and for this role, one of our AXA offices and in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers.

What you will be doing:

  • Accountable for the overall coordination & implementation planning of releases, through to the production estate.
  • Ensuring releases are delivered smoothly and to schedule through matrix managing a team of specialists using agile techniques.
  • Consulting with Delivery & Engineering teams to establish and manage overall functional and technical release scope, ensuring releases deliver significant benefit and monetary value to the organisation.
  • Responsible for overall release reporting, presenting clear visibility of risks, KPI’s and RAG status updates to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Driving the overall release quality, prior to implementation ensuring we remain compliant with our security and governance controls and that necessary evidence is present and acceptable.
  • Providing early life support post release and ensure unforeseen issues are triaged and managed accordingly, upon service stability lobby support from operational and business stakeholders to exit warranty.
  • Continuously challenge and evolve our ways of operating, through leveraging latest technology, methodologies, and market trends to spot and implement new and efficient ways of working that contribute to the overarching ALM strategy.
  • Working as a subject matter expertise in the field of release engineering, including strong tools knowledge and understanding of environment management & branching strategies, through the use of Microsoft Dev Ops.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating within a Release function within an Agile environment
  • Proven hands-on experience of MS Azure DevOps tool and underpinning knowledge of industry best practices
  • Experience of managing a release pipeline for .Net enterprise IT platform
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible attitude to work, be able to work unsociable hours when required
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
