My client is an award winning medical devices and healthcare business on a steep growth trajectory with multiple manufacturing locations across the UK as well as internationally.
Job Description
As the UK Manufacturing Director, you will lead and develop a team of highly skilled and valued colleagues across multiple locations. As the business is growing at a rapid rate, it is key that you will develop the capability of your team to ensure their own growth and development is in line with that of the business. You will lead, inspire and motivate to ensure a safe working environment that is both inclusive and high performing.
The UK Manufacturing Director will be responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and complaint manner and in compliance to legislated HSE guidelines. Safety will always be the key priority.
- The development and successful execution of the manufacturing strategy across multiple manufacturing sites linked to the overall company business plan
- Ensuring all Internal and external regulatory compliance issues are adhered to including product traceability in line with IS13485 certification.
- Ownership of manufacturing budgets and accountability for invoiced revenue and gross margin at site level including preparation of operational and capital expenditure plans for the sites
- Accountability for upkeep of equipment and facilities through internal staff or 3rd party contractors
- Promotion of a culture of continuous improvement including standardisation of best practices across the sites
The Successful Applicant
To become the UK Manufacturing Director, you will have a proven track record of success leading a substantial single site manufacturing operation or multi site operations. You will be an outstanding and inclusive leader and can demonstrate the development of others to the highest possible standards. The products manufactured by my client improves the lives of it’s valued customers. Therefore, a passion for delivering the highest possible standards of customer service and delivery is a must.
Key selection criteria will also include but not be limited to;
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders- Collaborative work style with ability to partner with business leaders across other functions
- Familiarity with financial reporting and ownership of operational budgets
- Commercial focus with strong business acumen
- Strong problem solving and negotiations skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365
- Previous experience of driving a continuous improvement culture across multiple sites
- Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacture methods
- Degree educated or equivalent
