Trust Junior Doctor – General Adult Psychiatry, Ormskirk (40 hours per week)

We are seeking to recruit a Trust Junior Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to work with the West Lancashire General Adult Inpatient Team, for a fixed term period of 12 months.

The post is full time and will be based at the Scarisbrick Unit, Ormskirk District General Hospital. The unit comprises 21 beds in total and services are delivered as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that works with individual patients. You would be responsible for providing medical input for assessment, review and management of service users at both wards of the in-patient unit.

The post is based with experienced trainers offering fantastic opportunity for Psychiatry experience in an in-patient setting.

There may be a requirement to join the first On Call residential rota, for which additional remuneration is available.

To be eligible to apply for this post, you must be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and have completed FY1/Internship level training.

This post will provide great experience in psychiatry relevant especially for those considering a career in psychiatry or general practice but valuable whatever branch of medicine you choose to pursue. The post is designed primarily for trainees who have completed FY1 or equivalent as a minimum and want to gain further specialty experience.
