The successful candidate will become a member of the Treasury System Control team, within Group Finance Support (GFS) - Product Control, an agile and supportive team with a desire to further all of its colleagues development goals, via learning opportunities, knowledge sharing and cross training.

The colleague will be responsible for data quality assurance from the overnight trading system batches into the Treasury finance sub ledger (Oracle GL). The responsibilities will extend to daily controls, suspense assurance and remediation with a key focus on intercompany cash remediation. The team work alongside a large number of teams in the bank, but primarily the wider GFS teams and Markets Lending and Delivery operational teams, to support investigations and collaborate to agree resolution of cash or trade transaction issues.

The combined effort of the team will ensure smooth delivery of an excellent service to the wider Commercial Banking, Group Corporate Treasury, Insurance and Retail divisions.

Job Description

The colleague, will backfill an SME role within Treasury System Control, to release an SME to support a short term project within the team. The roles and responsibilities will extend to:

  • Daily processing and controls procedures, to assure financial ledger positions
  • Preparation of daily/month-end reporting journals
  • Perform reconciliations to support the balance sheet substantiation process, as well as assisting in various other month end reporting requirements.
  • Investigation and remediation of Intercompany reconciliations and transactions.
  • Interrogate large data sets (Excel) to analyse adjusting entries to the finance ledger
  • Production of internal and external reporting for the Bank.
  • Performing standard and non-routine administrative data processing tasks for leadership and gives colleagues advice on the proper performance of departmental processes.
  • Deliver assurance on the underlying financial information, through robust controls.
  • Preparation of moderately complex documents by using multiple computer applications (such as Microsoft Office), while also gathering and summarizing data for reports.
  • Developing personal capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities.
  • Delivering routine support services to others by using existing policies and procedures.

    The role will provide the colleague with an excellent opportunity to develop their understanding of the Lloyds trading systems and business. This will equip them with key skills in analysis, reporting, communication and stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a finance background, or qualified by experience.
