    Job Description

We are looking for applicants in the following postcode areas - SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18, SO19, who are also under the Southampton City Council jurisdiction for Council Tax.

Would you like to help us provide an important transport service for children? School Passenger Assistants play a key role in enabling children with special educational needs to attend school.

Do you have a natural ability to make people smile and have good people skills?

If you can answer ‘yes’ to the above questions, you may be interested in joining Southampton City Council’s team of relief/casual Passenger Assistants.

Additional Information:

Please note this post is Term Time only. Typical hours fall within the range of 07:30 to 09:30 in the morning and 14:30 to 16:30 in the afternoon-although they may vary.

Current pay rate is £12.18 per hour.

No need for a car or driving license.

No formal qualifications are needed, just a natural rapport with children and young people, alongside an awareness and understanding of special educational needs. – Formal Training will be provided either online via eLearning modules and/or face to face. You will need to have access to suitable IT equipment like a computer tablet, laptop, or desktop computer as well as a mobile phone.

This post requires an enhanced DBS check. For any posts that require a DBS check, if you have lived outside the UK within the last 5 years, you will be required to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct or a police certificate from the country/countries you have resided in. Kindly note that this is at the expense of the candidate, as well as any costs involved for translating into English.
