Transport Planning and Sustainable Behaviour Change Officerwithdemonstrable skills and experience in the delivery, monitoring and review of plans and good interpersonal skills is required to join a Transport Team based in Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands.SALARY:£27,852 - £29,439 pro rata + BenefitsLOCATION:Oakham, Rutland, East MidlandsJOB TYPE:Part-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS:30 hours per week - flexible and agile workingJob OverviewWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Transport Planning and Sustainable Behaviour Change Officerwithdemonstrable skills and experience in the delivery, monitoring and review of plans and good interpersonal skills.Working as a Transport Planning and Sustainable Behaviour Change Officer you will proactively work with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of sustainable behaviour change improvements within the public realm and take and integrated approach to the delivery of safe and sustainable services for residents and visitors to the county.As the Transport Planning and Sustainable Behaviour Change Officer you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of customer-facing, integrated behaviour change campaigns to support local residents and businesses to become more resource efficient and resilient to climate change.DUTIESYour duties and responsibilities asTransport Planning and Sustainable Behaviour Change Officerwill include:
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of sustainable behaviour change improvements within the public realm in accordance with corporate plans and strategies covering Local Transport Plans, school and business travel plans and waste strategies
  • Work with partners to further develop policy and suitable delivery mechanisms
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of grant bids applicable for sustainability and behaviour change initiatives
  • Be responsible for managing projects and allocating grant funding
  • Organise and carry out a variety of cyclical and ad-hoc behaviour change campaigns covering road safety, walking, cycling, sustainable travel, recycling, climate change and any other national or local priorities
  • Manage, develop, monitor, review and promote the organisation’s workplace travel plan
  • Respond to complaints/queries both verbally and in writing and to write and assist with reports as required
  • Support and educate vulnerable residents including young, elderly and residents with SEND where applicable
Candidate Requirements
  • Educated to A level or equivalent. Must include Math’s and English GCSE at minimum grade A-C
  • Demonstrate skills and experience in the delivery, monitoring and review of plans
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages
  • Experience of writing letters and reports
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Ability to act on own initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to recognise discrimination and be proactive in ensuring the organisation’s policy is put into practice
  • Mobile and able to work from various locations
  • Able to work outside normal office hours when required to do so
