Kenect Recruitment is currently partnered with a well known company, and are recruiting for a Transport Planner to join their Lichfield operation!

We are looking for a proactive and ambitious candidate, to join an established company within their Transport team! The role is to control the local collection and delivery vehicles and to ensure that goods entering the warehouse is correctly barcoded.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 12:00-20:30PM (afternoon shift / 37.5hr per week)

Salary: Dependant on experience (£21,0000 - £35,000)

Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire

Duties of the role:

  • Control vehicles and debrief drivers as returning to Lichfield
  • Planning of company vehicles from van to 44 Tonne lorries, ensuring deadlines are met and vehicles are ran cost effectively
  • Raise quotes and deal with haulier negotations
  • Liasing with the Warehouse team and other departments
  • Update and publish daily, weekly and monthly reports

About you:

  • Previous experience of working within a customer focus office environment
  • Ability to work under your own initiative
  • Have a good awareness of geography
  • Having a background and understanding of European Road Freight and / or transport would be advantageous but not essential
