We’re currently recruiting for a Transport General Manager to head up a dedicated contract for a customer in the Midlands. You’ll responsible for the operational and financial performance of the contract, taking ownership of vehicles and staff as we provide a seamless service to the customer. You’ll ensure that we are constantly compliant and achieving customer KPIs in a timely manner.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £60,000 per annum, a monthly car allowance and bonus. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Oversee the successful implementation of the contract and supporting functions, ensuring regular customer updates on progress and delivery
  • Develop and identify KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives for the contract to ensure high productivity and return
  • Lead regular health and safety and compliance meetings to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in line with regulations and are safe to operate
  • Build and develop an effective management team for long term success


What you need to succeed at XPO:


  • An international CPC qualification is essential
  • Experience managing a transport contract within a third-party environment or general haulage
  • An effective understanding of budgets and P&L
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all customers and stakeholders
