The Role:
Contribute to the success of the transport operation by being an important member of the team. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to have a significant influence on the day to day running of a busy office and the overall service levels provided to our customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Booking-in of customer deliveries.
- Debriefing of drivers
- Check, sort and print dispatch paperwork
- Dealing with queries by telephone and email from our customer, sub-contract haulers, drivers and warehousing sites.
- Liaising with the wider transport team to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets/databases for KPI reports.
- Reporting problems and dealing with any issues/queries that may arise.
- Working closely with the existing planning team to ensure that deliveries can be planned cost effectively whilst maintaining high service levels.
- Update and maintain multiple KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reports on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and availability of information for the Transport Manager.
- Liaise with the main administration department to ensure that good communication lines are maintained at all times and that queries are dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Day to day support for the planning team including receipt of delivery information and processing of this data onto the in-house systems.
- Providing administrative support for the transport team.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
·Previous experience in a transport or dispatch role is essentia
· Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
· Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year
· Be computer literate and have a good understanding of MS office applications.
· Be able to work to tight deadlines and manage their own time effectively
· Knowledge of warehousing or transport software systems would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
· Promote good practice
· Report any Safety concerns
· Follow all safe working procedures and site rules
· Wear the correct PPE at all times
· Abide by the clean as you policy
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
