We’re recruiting for a Training Manger to lead the training team and be an integral part of managing the increase in driver numbers within the business. You will own the training matrix for SPS and then lead the delivery of the re-skilling of the wider team as the project ends.

Key Tasks include:

  • Ensuring strategic alignment of the training department with business goals.
  • Working with the Head of People & EDI to draw up an effective training strategy to meet the business needs and support the People Strategy.
  • Working with the wider team across the business to ensure that we have up to date training plans for all colleagues, using training needs analysis tools.
  • Ensuring all training is compliant with current legislation and regulations.
  • Ensuring all training takes place in line with the SPS and EDF training matrix.
  • Championing behavioural safety and having positive safety conversations with colleagues to drive change whilst challenging unacceptable behaviours.
  • Promoting a positive attitude to safe working practices through personal leadership
  • Working with the SHE management team to ensure all mandatory safety training is managed and delivered.

Qualifications/knowledge

Essential skills:

  • Learning Management System experience
  • Excellent knowledge of training best practice and driving legalities
  • Driving Licence
  • Driving licence with no restrictions or penalties

Desirable skills

  • Equivalent to A level or Level 3 education
  • IOSH Managing Safety (or equivalent)
  • PCV licence

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Essential skills:

  • Experience of managing and delivering in-house training experience
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Training management experience
  • Experienced in high volume training delivery, including CPC’s
  • Extensive knowledge of the PSV industry
  • Experience in using effective communication and training techniques.
