The Opportunity


The Training Department have two Instructor vacancies, One for Maintenance and one for Operations.

As part of the Business Department, the training personnel are responsible for the initial training of new staff to meet the needs of the station. They further facilitate organisational learning in support of safe reliable performance of the plant by ensuring that line incumbents receive refresher, performance improvement and development training. The successful candidate(s) could be covering either Operations or Maintenance training.


Pay, benefits and culture


We’re offering a salary of £40,069 – £71,779 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification. We also offer an attractive pension scheme along with some great company benefits! This is a full-time position, however we will be happy to discuss options regarding part time flexibility, if you would like to highlight this on your application.

What you’ll be doing


Training instructors will develop and deliver high quality technical and operator fundamental training in line with the areas of accountability. Training will be developed, delivered and systematically evaluated to ensure it is effective and delivering safe, reliable generation.

Principal Accountabilities


  • To implement all phases of the systematic approach to training to support SQEP compliance and continual plant and personnel performance improvement.
  • Coordinate a schedule for refresher courses and course requests within a training program.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Operations or Maintenance and, in time, support training to other areas of the organisation.
  • Support organisational learning through active membership of the associated training curriculum review committees (CRC) our customers.
  • Support internal audits and maintain accreditation standard across the Operations and Maintenance training programmes.


Who you are


  • Individuals would normally hold an appropriate qualification at HNC level or equivalent.
  • A practical understanding of the company systematic approach to training (SAT) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal / relationship building / communication skills are expected.
  • Knowledge of Generation Systems or Environmental Safety would be an advantage but not essential.
  • All instructors would be expected to become Fleet Certified Instructors and formal training will be given to attain both Fleet Certified Instructor and Simulator Instructor qualification.
