We are looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our award-winning team in Llanelli, undertaking a 2-year period of recognised training (training contract). The successful candidate will be developing all of the relevant skills and experience in drafting, legal research, interviewing clients, negotiating and much more in order to develop you into being a qualified solicitor.Thompsons has consistently been commended in The Times’ Best Law Firms. More About The Opportunity
Trainees are a top priority in our firm.
- Your main area of focus will be to assist asbestos related disease litigation, with exposure to other areas of legal practice as required.
- The training will also cover seats in other practice areas such as Clinical Negligence, Employment Rights (discrimination, equality, unfair dismissals and settlement agreements) and Criminal Law & Professional Misconduct.
- We offer a comprehensive programme, where each day is different and brings new and stimulating challenges, with ample opportunity to learn.
- Regular supervision, feedback and support will be provided to ensure success in qualifying as a solicitor.
- You will be based in our Llanelli office and after undertaking our 90-day ‘setting you up for success’ induction programme, you will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid working basis.
- A Law Degree and prior completion of the Legal Practice Course.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work quickly and accurately.
- Committed to meeting deadlines and excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
- High levels of initiative, motivation, and resilience to deliver the highest quality of work under pressure.
