Job OverviewClinical coding is a high profile area of work and our team collects data about every patient who visits the Trust, investigating all aspects of their journey. Our role is essential for the effective management of the Trust and directly influenced patient care and the Trusts income though Payment by Results.There are exciting plans for future development opportunities with the role and we also actively link in with the Trusts Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) team which is a national project pulling together all the good things we do to enable us to learn from other Trusts.Main duties of the jobHere at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we are excited to recruit a high calibre individual to join our existing professional team of Clinical Coders. We are one of the 1 st Trusts in the UK to deliver integrated Acute, Community and Mental Health Services therefore we can offer a varied role working across a range of services, including maternity, ITU and other specialist services.An opportunity exists for someone interested in a career in health informatics to join the profession of clinical coding. We require a motivated and enthusiastic individual to be part of our extremely busy clinical coding team.The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work under pressure to deadlines.
