Burnham Community Hospital - Staff Nurse

Burnham Community Hospital would like to invite you to apply for our Registered Nurse vacancy.

You may be newly qualified or working in an acute hospital, nursing home or other community setting, whatever your background we will support your transferable clinical skills and professional development. All we ask is that you have compassion and a drive to provide excellent hands on nursing care.

At Burnham Hospital we are a team of Nurses and therapists who all possess the same focus, getting our patients back to their normal place of residence whilst promoting their independence along the way. We encourage patients to manage their own needs ensuring they are confident for their safe and proactive discharge.

We are a nurse led unit, which provides plenty of opportunity to use your decision making and autonomous nursing skills and shows you will become an integral part of this Hospital.

Burnham hospital has a 16 bedded inpatient reablement beds; our patients include short-term rehab and end of life care. You will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of personalised care plans. We are currently undergoing refurbishment to make the hospital more dementia-friendly, including creating a lovely, enclosed dementia garden and indoor space for all our patients to enjoy.

You should demonstrate a compassionate and caring approach to your care delivery, working with patients who have undergone surgery or been medically unwell to support their rehabilitation.

Whilst the NHS is changing to be community focused; we can offer skill development opportunities in many areas of practice. The successful candidate will also be working within a developing model of care. Care is delivered on a personalised basis jointly developed with the patient and/ or carers.
