Trade Mark Attorney

Stoneleigh, Warwickshire

Part-time position: 22.5 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to join the Legal team, working as an Trade Mark Attorney (part-time).

Job Summary

To support the Global IP function in relation to trade mark and related matters across AGCO with particular emphasis on extracting value through clearance and protection of relevant trade mark rights (including opposing third party rights as appropriate), asserting those rights against competitors, defending AGCO from assertions by competitors and general counselling to the AGCO group of companies in relation to trade marks and related matters.

Job Responsibilities

You will be expected to provide commercially focused advice, in particular

  • Advising group businesses in relation to the protection and enforcement of their trade marks, designs and copyright, unfair competition law, custom seizure matters and filing strategies
  • Filing and prosecuting applications before the UKIPO and WIPO, as well as working with overseas associates on applications worldwide
  • Advising and assisting with contentious issues (oppositions, revocation and invalidation proceedings, takedown requests, cease and desist matters)
  • Ongoing portfolio management advice across the trade mark life cycle

The role offers a high degree of autonomy, working with internal customers and foreign attorneys from the outset. A flexible, hybrid working policy will help you fit work around your life and commitments. We are happy to consider newly or nearly qualified attorneys, as well as those with more experience, for this role.

Candidates should have:

  • Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney (CITMA) or equivalent
