The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for a Toolroom Coordinator to join our clients growing team based in the Llanelli area.Contract: PermanentSalary: £36,841 (up to £42,613 inc all SA)Hours of work: Variable Shifts: 37 hours per week. Shift work required and overtime on occasion.Responsible ForThe role will require the coordination of Toolmakers to support Tooling Planned Maintenance,Repairs, modifications and Breakdowns. The use of company systems and documentation to support business requirements and achieve Toolroom KPI’s.Qualifications
  • Must have completed a 4 year Toolmaking or related Apprenticeship
  • Must possess a ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering discipline
Key Requirements
  • Apprentice trained with an engineering qualification
  • Strong understanding of and enforcement of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Tooling / Machining Expertise (Press Tooling,Injection moulding Tooling or similar
  • Excellent Leadership skills
Knowledge / Experience
  • Press Tool Dismantling and Assembly, Mechanical problem solving, working to high tolerances
  • Experience in Transfer and/Progression Tooling is desirable
  • HS / CS / Assy Die & Component process knowledge from 60-2000ton.
  • Tool repair/modification protocol and timescale evaluation
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
  • Organise and control effective maintenance and repairs of Press tools/ancillary equipment including procurement of spares etc.
  • Must complete all work within set timescales dictated by production/customer requirements. Hourly/daily updates.
  • Lead key tooling improvement activities while supporting others
  • Evaluate repairs to determine whether it can be conducted in Press or whether this must be removed to Toolroom for essential maintenance and repair work.
  • Communicate effectively with team, shift leaders, maintenance and press operations to ensure all issues are resolved correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Agree repair plans and cascade through the 3 shift cycle
  • Use of Pirana for Planning, data recording to ensure its accuracy & adherence.
  • Issue of PTW and conduct Risk Assessments
  • Updating and Monitoring of Key Tool repair performance Data and act on results
  • Monitor daily workload and priorities labour effectively day-day and weekly
  • Undertake basic tasks expected of supervision level 1 within the business.
  • Ensure company systems are updated
Aptitude
  • To have gained entry to an Apprenticeship Programme, 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above. Must contain Maths, English and Science.
  • Verbal Evaluation.
  • Numerical Calculation.
  • Mechanical Comprehension.
