About The Role

Our team members are adaptable, friendly, polite and caring. They enjoy working as a team with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Do you share these values?

If you are passionate about providing a high standard of care to patients and constantly strive to do things better then we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our theatre team.

Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet has been rated Outstanding by the CQC*, putting it at the very top of the regulator’s quality ratings and our focus is on ensuring that patients received high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team led by our experienced Theatre Manager, Heidi, you will provide support to ensure a high standard of patient care throughout the patient journey. This will mean observing and reporting changes in a patient’s condition, escorting patients, assisting the clinical and medical staff and contributing to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the theatre list.

About You

With recent experience working as a Health Care Assistant in an acute setting, you will have your NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards it. Experience gained in theatre would be an advantage but not essential. Just as important though is your ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, commitment to your own personal development and your excellent communication skills.

About Us

Everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care. When you’re part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job. You have a career. We work with you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. If you want to move up the ladder, we’ll support you. If you just want to stay in your role, that’s fine too. We’ll help you be the best you can be.

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance – so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.
