As a Barclays Tester, will have the opportunity to work on projects encapsulating System, System Integration or End-to-End testing that require changes to one or several systems. This role will be responsible for supporting test automation across the Test teams. You will be able to contribute to building and enhancing the strategic test automation framework, in addition to resolving queries escalated by various products or projects using the framework.

Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

• You will provide governance and control over the Barclays test automation frameworks
• You will be automating tests using Karate / Java
• Automating the application deployments, functional test scripts and regression test scripts
• Participating in daily scrum stand-up meetings, explaining progress and issues encountered
• Contributing to the design and development of the overall test automation strategy and vision, including the tools and technologies needed to support the strategy
• You will adopt the best practice process for developing automated test programs
• Collaborating with several teams, contributing as a team player who performs high quality automation testing
• Working with development and QA teams to establish and reinforce automation development processes
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Graduate with technical background
• Strong hands on experience in software testing with at least minimum experience in test management
• Experience integrating automation tests with continuous delivery tools
• Previous experience in environments include Cucumber JVM, Selenium WebDriver, Restful Services, Java, Git, Tomcat, Jira, Junit, SOAPUI, REST APIs, Agile Scrum/Kanban
  
  

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Experience in working with Cloud Technologies
• Experience in testing AWS services e.g. lambda, DnynamoDb, RDS, Glue, Step Functions, Kinesis, API Gateway, etc
• Experience in developing and maintaining new test automation frameworks within large organisations
• Good Exposure of API (Rest Services) Testing
  
  

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
