Job Function

Specific responsibilities

· Contribute to the delivery of the TXO Systems Lab division via supporting the delivery of testing.

· Carry out test of IT/telecommunications equipment as directed by the management team.

· Test TXO/OEM optical transceivers for functionality and compatibility to agreed specifications.

· Timely filing of Test reports regardless of outcome.

· Update the internal database with test results.

· Accurate and timely use of X3 to ensure products are accounted for both physically and digitally.

· Effective communication with internal departments verbally, email and teams.

· Practice Electrostatic discharge awareness to prevent accidental damage to equipment.

· Follow Health and Safety rules and guidelines within the lab environment.

· Always keep all work areas clean and tidy. Personal items to be placed in locker.

· Maintain good housekeeping in storage and test areas, ensuring there is a place for everything and everything is in its place.

· Ensure all tools are retuned to designated position after use.

· Uphold the professional reputation of the Lab both internally and externally.

· Monitor own testing statistics/KPIs to ensure efficiency and identify any anomalies.

· Carry out cosmetic and minor component level repairs.

· During peak period assist in the wider operation of the test lab.

· Assist senior technicians with creation of test/default procedures for new equipment.

· Help with technical support both internally and externally.

· Assist with training of new staff members.

· Be flexible to change and assist with implementation of new working practices.

· Timely completion of assigned training to agreed deadlines.

The role holder is also expected to perform any reasonable requests which are not defined but in the ability of the individual.

· Responsible for personal Health and Safety and operating in a manner which is safe personally and for others.

· Follow all companies Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Quality, Health and Safety, Environment, and Information Security.

· On the job training will be provided along with access to pluralsight online training portal.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
