Sussex Wildlife Trust are seeking an experienced Temporary Livestock person within their Grazing Team, primarily to provide support during the busy calving and lambing period. This is a temporary role for around 2-3 months starting immediately.

You will need:

  • Solid experience of livestock management and husbandry, specifically sheep and cows
  • Practical experience of calving and lambing
  • Experience of driving a tractor and relevant qualification – eg NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving and related operations
  • A full driving licence and own vehicle to reach our rural location
  • The ability to undertake a physically demanding job, outdoors in all weathers
  • To be confident about working alone

Hours and working pattern can be flexible – ideally covering up to 5 days per week on a rota system, but part time is also an option. Hours will include some evening and weekend working. You will need to be able to work at least 1 weekend per fortnight.

The role is primarily based in Findon, West Sussex with occasional travel to Lewes in East Sussex

The hourly rate is £12 per hour.
