We have an exciting opportunity for you to work within a state of the art, purpose built facility for Jaguar Land Rover, one of the leading manufacturers within the UK. As the Technical Training Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management of the Commercial, Technical and Apprentice programmes within Jaguar Land Rover. This is a great opportunity to be an integral player and part of a well-established team, taking responsibility and managing circa 20 individuals, including 100+ Apprentices and Adult learners, across Jaguar Land Rover, while at the same time developing a future career with Babcock International.

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a Technical Training Manager to lead, inspire and motivate their team in order to deliver key, agreed objectives and partner closely with the customer. You do not have to come from an automotive background, however strong leadership and development skills, as well as a high commercial acumen are both key attributes to securing this role.

What will you be doing?
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the customer and support JLR in delivering their strategic training goals.
  • Closely manage and support timely completion against funding end dates and ensure learner assessment outcomes are in-line with JLR and Babcock requirements.
  • Management of the commercial Technical and Apprenticeship training delivery and assessment teams.
  • Management of the Quality Improvement Plan to achieve an Ofsted Good rating at Internal and External Audit.
  • Manage costs within the team in line with the budget and nationally agreed operating ratios.
  • Attendance and presentation of data / management information where required at client meetings.
  • To be an advocate for the client and assist in strategically moving the contract forward.

The experience you’ll bring:
  • Possess strong leadership and line management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working with Apprenticeships would be ideal.
  • Technical Training experience or experience of managing a facility for technical / non-technical training.
  • Experience working in an automotive environment is desirable.
  • Willing to undertake some travel to Liverpool / Leicester and Lata in Scotland.
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain enhanced DBS security clearance.
