About the role
The role will place you in the Hull and System Surveillance Requirements Team, situated within Submarine Support Engineering (SSE), a Centre of Excellence for engineering capability and professional development.


As the primary engineering function in Naval Marine, SSE provides technical outputs and solutions to enable submarine and warship availability and fit for purpose infrastructure; supporting our programmes while understanding and proactively managing platform safety.


You will support the MOD customer in assuring the design intent of the platform by scheduling Hull and System Surveillance Requirements (H&SSR), managing survey returns for work packages and maintaining H&SSR Policy documents; The role will also require you to undertake technical investigations and provide technical support to resolve H&SSR queries both from internal and external customers.


You will work closely with Ships Staff, relevant Subject Matter Experts across Babcock, SDA and other key stakeholders; and support the Lead Engineer, as directed, in the review of processes and ways of working to ensure they reflect current approaches as well as implementing identified continuous improvement activities or wider changes to H&SSR processes.

  • Have a proactive approach to work;
  • Qualifications of HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems.
