About This Role

In this role you will maintain and support the nation’s defences. It is quite a unique position, as you have an opportunity to work closely with the customer to directly use the power of communication to help make a better world. For each other, for our customers, for society and our communities.

You will be proactively monitoring and supporting bespoke managed IP Services at the Primary Network Control Centre (PNCC). This includes the management of data monitoring devices, various secure complex and global networks and key email services.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of multi skilled specialists, responsible for the end to end delivery of customer DFTS service on secure and non-secure services contracts, maintaining a flexible and pro-active approach to all aspects of work, whilst using initiative to resolve day to day issues to both the clients’ and BT’s satisfaction.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

Proactive monitoring of complex global network

You will meet or exceed bespoke/customer-specific SLAs, contractual commitments and internal performance measurements

Support Customer orders for voice conferencing services

Utilise system tools to identify faults remotely

Use service desk tools to log faults, ensuring faults are passed to the correct teams within agreed timescales

Liaise with field teams and customers to support fault restoration

Identify generic problems and implement action plans to bring about long term technical solutions

To assist and support ongoing GOSCC operations

Day to day management of platform specific repair activities

Participate in on call rota

To assist the Cyber Technical Manager in establishing, maintaining and improving support systems and local procedures

Responsible for the security of customer information, complying with and implementing the DFTS system security policy

To work with the NCC technical platform managers, bringing to attention any breach in security or compromise to the integrity of the service platform

Be pro-active in learning new additions and processes to the network

Enforce and practice BT’s fair trading policy and regulatory compliance requirements

Maintain your awareness of BT safety policies and carry out regular reviews of your working environment to ensure that it remains safe

Representing Enterprise at operational meetings/briefings with key stakeholders and customers

Ensure functionality and security routines are carried out to meet contractual obligations

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

A good understanding of IP data networks, including WAN protocols and technologies.

An understanding of VOIP protocols and technologies.

An understanding of voice and video conferencing technologies

An understanding of Oracle SBC

An understanding of firewall technologies and fundamentals

Additional Information

Must be a UK Citizen/resident and living here for the last 5 years with a UK national passport.

You will be able to gain and maintain DV security clearance.
