Technical Specialist - Fleet Services

As part of a dedicated team, you will provide a high level of technical specialist support as part of the Marine & Offshore Systems Support Team to meet the needs of the business. To support our local and global stakeholders by answering a wide range of technical queries and applying solutions related to problems with LR business support systems.

The role

  • To perform assessments and provide specialist advice for users of MAST. Investigate issues raised, identify root cause, and fix or escalate to the appropriate team. Create new tickets in Service Now for unknown defects, log calls for outages, and communicate with the Incident Management Team.
  • To run queries in MySql database to solve problems and undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
  • To manage the mailboxes and deal with queries from internal and external users. Respond to queries in a timely manner and liaise with application developers as required to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
  • To coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

What You Bring

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role and an understanding of marine classification, technical performance, and the fleet quality management process
  • Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
  • Ability to prioritize and work unsupervised under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Proficient in MySQL
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
