Job DescriptionAHere at Vertu Motors, since forming the group in 2006, we have invested heavily in supporting the growth of the business by developing bespoke solutions and internal systems.
We are a team ofcross functional enablers helping the business achieve goals and objectives. Following an agile approach to development our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software. We have been successful in nurturing a very innovative and exciting work environment.
There are several successful sub teams that all vary with expertise ranging from Web and UX, RPA, Data and Analytics and Internal Systems Development. To further support the great work the teams are doing, we are looking for a technical product owner to help translate the requirements of our many stakeholders and shape them into great epics, features and stories.
Our team is based in Gateshead however this is a hybrid role and can also be remote if you are not living in the North East.
We have an awesome roadmap and would like you to help in delivering this.
You will be responsible for maintaining the group’s portfolio backlog and ensure we maximise the value of the work the team carry out in line with the business priorities. You will identify stakeholder needs.
- Ideally you will be interested in digital transformation and be aware of tech stacks, we’d like you to help in proposing innovative solutions for the problems the stakeholders face.
- You will write technical epics, features and stories.
- You will identify dependencies upfront and help outline any potential problem or cross over.
- You will group feature requests together into batches that will help us create team shaped sprint goals.
- You will participate in daily stand-ups and help to ensure the development team understand the items in the portfolio backlog and how to solve them.
- It is desirable that you are aware of and have a Lean-Agile mindset.

- Attend member meetings to support colleagues where needed
- Build strong relationships with your colleagues to understand their strengths and weaknesses
- Manage the backlog of projects so they seamlessly flow from in waiting to in progress
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar
- Be able to evidence experience at analysing User requirements
- You have a technical background and experience working on a digital product(s)
- You have a base of technical knowledge to be able to liaise with development and UI teams
- Charismatic and engaging personality that will engage stakeholders with the vision of the product
- Comfortable presenting technical topics to an engaged and inquisitive audience, answering questions openly
- A working knowledge of the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment
