Job Title: Technical Manager
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience
Location: Heathfield, Newton Abbot

Our client is a local drinks manufacturer currently experiencing rapid market growth and seeking a talented Technical Manager to lead and support the technical team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled manager with a technical food industry background.

As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of technical systems including Hygiene, QA & QC and pest control. You will be a vital link between sales, suppliers, customers, production, and processes. An integral part of the team, the Technical Manager must also assist to prepare the business for BRC standard within an 18-month timescale.

As a Technical Manager your duties will include:
  • Review and management of Food Safety and Quality Management
  • Prepare for customer audits
  • Manage product specifications
  • Manage and perform in-house lab work
  • Manage supplier approval and ongoing validation for ingredients, packaging and equipment

Essential skills required:
  • Previous experience in a technical or QA role at managerial level
  • Knowledge of the processing, chemistry and microbiology of soft and alcoholic drinks
  • Degree in scientific discipline
  • Level 3 HACCP and Food Hygiene (minimum)
