Langage Farm is a well-established and expanding family-owned dairy product manufacturer, supplying many national retail chains, currently seeking a technical manager to oversee the Technical team as our current technical manager moves into a new role within our expanded partnerships. You will be reporting directly to the general manager and partners.

As Technical Manger you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of quality and compliance activities within Langage Farm. These activities include auditing, quality assessment, surveillance and testing, incident investigation, support at trials and launches, NPD and compliance management with BRCGS and supermarket guidelines.

Responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Being accountable for customer contact regarding complaints, visits, audits, product launches and KPI’s
  • Managing customer complaint investigations including complaints reduction plan, reporting outcomes and actions to the customer in a timely manner
  • Technical management of new product launches
  • Managing customer communication for incidents, recalls or withdrawals
  • Managing non routine micro incidents and preventative action plans
  • Completing product specifications, ensuring products adhere to the specified requirements
  • Review and gap analysis of customer codes of practice
  • Managing taste panel and benchmarking sessions
  • Providing technical support for the Factory
  • Managing the food safety requirements of new ingredient suppliers

Essential / Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in Food Manufacturing, including customer interface
  • BRC standard, food legislation, customer codes of practice
  • Degree in food related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Ideally HACCP L4 and Food Saftey Qualification
  • Highly motivated and flexible with working times
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Competent Computer Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to train food safety to level 2 (Desirable)

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday averaging 45 hours a week with flexibility to meet the needs of the business and yourself. The salary is competitive and dependent on experience and includes performance related bonuses.
