Langage Farm is a well-established and expanding family-owned dairy product manufacturer, supplying many national retail chains, currently seeking a Engineering manager to oversee the engineering team as our current engineering manager moves up county. You will be reporting directly to the partners.

As Engineering Manger, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering, mechanical and electrical activities within Langage Farm. These activities include planned preventative maintenance, partaking in weekly KPI management meetings, downtime recording, delegating tasks to and managing the engineering team, breakdown repair, ensuring there are safe systems of work for your team, management of new project implementation and design alongside the partners.

Qualifications and experience

  • FMCG background, preferably in food production
  • Qualified to Level 5 NVQ, HND or Foundation Degree, as a minimum, in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Health & Safety qualification: NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Extensive experience of electrics. 3 phase distribution, switching and motors, low voltage systems. Including fault finding
  • Good working knowledge of pneumatics
  • Good working knowledge of boilers & steam systems
  • Good working knowledge of pumps and pumping systems
  • Knowledge of water and effluent systems
  • Proven leadership skills & team management
  • Experience of running PPM systems
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (word & Excel)
  • Food safety, HACCP

Additional Role Requirements

  • Be prepared to be part of an on-call rota (1 in 4) covering evenings and Sundays
  • Be prepared to be the departmental manager whist also having some hands on requirements.
  • Experience of project management: Installation of new equipment, process improvement and integration of new equipment with existing.

Desirable experience

  • Knowledge and experience of refrigeration / HVAC
  • Understanding of PLC’s, servo drives and control systems
  • Lean manufacturing: 5S, Kaizen, RCA,
  • Welding
  • Management of legionella ACOP L8
