This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a large-scale digital transformation of Sedgemoor District Council. The approach at Sedgemoor is to create new integrated technology solutions against our recently procured Digital Platform - Firmstep. We want to ensure end user experience translates to usable and modern customer based solutions to help provide effective and efficient service delivery.
Working within the Information Systems team, specifically supporting the Customer Access Programme (CAP), you will be working within this programme on a number of software engineering based projects. These projects will make a real difference to not only our employees but the community as a whole. On a day-to-day basis you will be part of an agile development team working with existing team members supporting and enabling these new products.
While deploying our new Digital Platform within the Customer Services function, initially our project focus is on creating new software engineered applications while migrating from our current in-house legacy solutions which have proven local authority top quartile service performance; Business Rates, Council Tax and Housing Benefits Systems. These new and additional roles will focus on utilising the latest Microsoft based Azure Technologies and a Micro Services Architecture delivering a fully integrated Enterprise Architecture.
To ensure our solutions remain fit for the digital age now and in the future, we are looking for people to supplement the existing team to help manage, build and test the products while delivering to both national and local digital requirements:
For further information please refer to Sedgemoor Careers Page or for an informal discussion on IS roles please contact Peter Saunders on 01278 435490 or Craig Wilkins on 01278 435457.
To apply please send your CV and Recruitment Statement (Template on Sedgemoor Careers Page) outlining your suitability for the role to: people@sedgemoor.gov.uk
