An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Work Team Manager to join the newly created Assessment and Review Team.

This Team Manager will work in partnership with an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to provide leadership, advice and support to a multidisciplinary team of staff comprising social workers, occupational therapists, community care co-ordinators, rehab assistants and a technology adviser.

You will have a social work qualification and experience of supervising and leading teams.

The team will be responsible for the assessment, review and oversight of unmet need in relation to Care at Home.

Assessments adopting a strength’s-based approach will be undertaken in a multi-disciplinary context with a focus on collaboration between all members of the team to secure the best possible outcomes for the people being assessed

Successful candidates will need to have strong leadership skills with the ability to work in partnership with other statutory and third sector organisations

Excellent I.T. and communication skills are essential as is previous experience of supervising and leading teams

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
