An exciting opportunity has arisen for Team Manager in the Reviewing Officers and Children’s Rights team. You will manage the a team where commitment and energy are essential to the delivery of a high quality service. You will manage a supportive busy team, which delivers statutory services to children/young people and their families.

You will be responsible for supporting and providing leadership to five Reviewing Officers, one Court Contact Rights Officer and sessional workers involved in running participation groups for care experienced children and young people in order to ensure good practice and service delivery. The Reviewing Officers provide a chairing for statutory review meetings for children who are looked after and care experienced in accordance with current legislation and guidance. In addition, they also provide a chairing service for Child Protection Case Conferences in accordance with the Edinburgh and Lothians Child Protection Procedures. You will also be responsible for supporting and developing the visions and ambitions of the strategic planning and implementation of National legislation and policy such as: The Promise, UNCRC and Corporate Parenting alongside the Children’s Service’s Senior leadership team.

A professional Social Work qualification and registration with SSSC are essential. We welcome applications from experienced workers. Successful applicants for this post will be subject to checks via the PVG scheme. Previous experience of working in a children and families local authority post and of reviewing care plans would be desirable as would experience of chairing multi agency meetings.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme (at a cost of £59) or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check (at a cost of £18) prior to commencing employment. The cost of the PVG application or update will be deducted from your salary over a period of either 1 or 3 months
