Hours:29.16 hours per week, possibly with additional hours to cover the school lunch time.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our dedicated support staff team at Whitchurch Combined School. We are looking for a hardworking, resilient person with a sense of fun who will always put the children first and is able to respond appropriately to the wide ranging needs of our pupils. We anticipate that the successful candidate will work in Key Stage 2 (7 – 11 years of age).

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
  • Work with and support individual children on a 1:1 basis and groups on specific activities;
  • Constructively help children participate in activities by adapting and/or interpreting lessons and instructions accordingly.
  • Implement support plans for identified child / children;
  • Assist with the general management, supervision and organisation of children and any resources related to the children’s needs.
  • Assist with the supervision of children within the classroom and all other areas of the school as necessary.
  • Undertake lunchtime duties and supervision

About you

This is an important role within the school and a positive attitude and empathic manner along with the ability to prioritise and deal with a demanding workload is vital. You will be an excellent communicator, confident dealing with staff, students and parents. You will have good attention to detail and have the capacity to work in an environment that requires diplomacy, tact and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards their CIPD qualification or equivalent and have experience of HR in an educational setting. Knowledge of SIMS would be advantageous, however full training can be offered to the successful applicant if necessary.
