We are seeking a Teaching Assistant for an exciting opportunity in a truly lovely school in a beautiful area of Wiltshire, close to Salisbury.The school is a specialist provision for children and young people with dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. They also have a provision for children from military families. They are looking for a reliable, ambitious Teaching Assistant to work with them on a full time basis, beginning as soon as possible.What does the role involve?
  • Providing 1-1 and 1-2 support within the classroom
  • Supporting learning and development across the school
  • Encouraging pupils to take part in lessons, and helping them to do so
  • Assisting with development of pupils’ writing skills, pen grip, letter formation etc
Ideal candidate qualities
  • Relevant experience in a related area (eg sports coaching, youth/care work, support work, EYFS etc)
  • Resilient and patient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Candidate Requirements
  • Child Only DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one
  • GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English
