This school is a maintained community special school for pupils aged between 10 and 16 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school serves a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including;
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC);
  • Attention Deficit, (Hyperactivity) Disorder AD(H)D;
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN);
  • Opposition Defiance Disorder (ODD) and Attachment/Conduct disorders

  • Experience of supporting children or adults with SEN needs and/or disabilities SEND especially in SEMH.
  • High expectations of children’s progress, attainment, and behaviour.
  • The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems.
  • Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
  • Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships.
  • Has emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.
