Overview:

A Systems Support Engineer is a crucial team member responsible for maintaining, optimising, and troubleshooting an organisation’s IT systems, applications, and databases. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT infrastructure, making it a crucial component in delivering uninterrupted services to the organisation. Systems Support Engineers have expertise in various technologies, including .NET, SQL, and AWS, and they play a pivotal role in resolving technical issues, implementing system improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven experience in .NET application development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues and senior engineers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from experienced professionals while contributing to the team’s success.
  • A strong desire to grow technically and professionally in the IT industry, with a passion for technology and a drive to excel.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Application Support:

  • Assist in troubleshooting .NET applications, identifying issues, and implementing solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with the development team to address software bugs and enhance application performance.

2. Database Assistance:

  • Provide support in the management of SQL databases and basic SQL query optimisation.
  • Learn to assist in database schema management and updates.

3. System Monitoring:

  • Participate in monitoring system performance, error logs, and resource utilisation to identify potential issues.
  • Work with the team to implement improvements and address performance bottlenecks.

4. Documentation:

  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and support activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in updating standard operating procedures and guidelines for better system management.

5. Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution:

  • Work under the guidance of senior team members to respond to system and application incidents promptly.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to handle basic support tasks and gain real-world experience.

6.Learning and Development:

  • Actively participate in continuous learning and development opportunities to expand your knowledge of .NET, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Engage in training and development programmes to enhance your skills and advance your career.
