Join us in new roles in Yate, supporting several young people (ages 21- 30) at an exciting time in their lives as they transition to living independently in their own, shared homes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service. You’ll support them in all aspects of their busy lives.

About The Role

You’ll support people to do the things they want to do in the community; from going to the gym and horse riding, to working in social enterprises and swimming. You’ll support them to increase their independent living skills too, and in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. Find out more about these aspects of the role through videos on our main website.

If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression .

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is required.

Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for sleep-ins included in annual salary above). Some services do not require sleep-ins and you may work some waking nights. Salary for these roles is £17,794 - £18,492 pa.

You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
