Job content

This is more than a job; it’s a career that supports people to live life to the full.

We are looking for a resilient and friendly Support Worker to join a team that works in partnership with people who use our services, to enable them to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community. As a Support Worker you will encourage the health and well-being of the people that you support, through enabling them to be involved in a range of activities chosen by the person supported. At Autism Initiatives we work alongside people with autism, providing specialist services tailored to each individual. You will be required to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and sleep in duties.

Experience is not essential, but a genuine passion for providing person centred support as well as a positive attitude, is key to being successful in this role. In particular, we are looking for someone who likes to go for drives and walks.

In return, we will provide you with ongoing training and development, including supporting you to obtain your Diploma Level 2 qualification in Care. This is a truly rewarding role, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge and fulfil your career aspirations.

Due to the needs of the service, a full driving licence is required.

Given the nature of this role, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.

Throughout the Covid 19 pandemic we continue to prioritise the safety of our staff and people with autism; we are working together to make sure that we reduce risk of infection and support everybody’s wellbeing as we go through this challenging time.

At the moment, our interviews are being conducted remotely to minimise risk and ensure we are adhering to government guidelines. Autism Initiatives provide staff with appropriate PPE to ensure the safety of our staff and people with autism and reduce the risk of infection.

Please complete an application form and return to the Human Resources department to register your interest in a position.

The closing date for completed applications is Friday 8th April 2022

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 26th April 2022
