This service, managed by a leading provider of assisted living, provides supported living for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs in a residential setting. Their goal is clear; to find enthusiastic and creative individuals to help reduce social isolation and enhance people’s lives by helping to address loneliness and linking people with the appropriate available community activities. The service is looking to add an experienced support worker who has dealt with complex care and challenging behaviour to their team. Typical shits are 08.00-22.00 but this may vary. Responsibilities of the job include: Providing excellent support for people with mental health challenges and learning disabilities Building relationships with service users and their families Following care plans to help service users reach their goals Support with day to day living, personal care included Support service users on days out and activities The Ideal candidate would: Be enthusiastic about assisting those in need Have recent experience working in a care environment with adults with mental health difficulties or learning disabilities Be patient, sociable and empathetic, in order to establish good relationships with residents based on confidence, trust, understanding and mutual respect Have a positive attitude, a good sense of humour and are passionate about working in care Benefits include: Support to complete NVQ in Health and Social Care Support to complete the nationally recognised Care Certificate Competitive pay and a pension with company contribution and 28 days annual leave Company paid enhanced DBS for all staff All our staff are supported 24/7 by our out of hour’s teams Free 24/7 counselling and employee support programme
