We’re all here to make a positive difference to people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Somerset. Here at Discovery we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Support Worker team inCheddar.

About The Role

This service is a beautiful house with lovely gardens, situated in Cheddar and is home to 13 people we support – 10 in the main house, and 3 in self-contained flats. The people we support here tend to be older and have varying needs.

The people we support enjoy getting out and visiting friends/family. Between them, they also engage in a wide range of hobbies such as painting, tai chi, crazy golf and discos. Our aim is to support people to be as independent as possible and achieve their aspirations.

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and empathetic staff who enjoy helping people to reach their full potential. You will be part of a friendly team who put the people we support at the heart of everything they do. To succeed in this role, you need to be honest, creative and able to have fun, have good initiative and common sense. We encourage independence and ensure the people we support are provided with opportunities to continue to develop their own skill-base.
