Following a recent internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial Accounting to join our high performing Finance Department!

This role is 37 hours per week with a salary of £50,000+

The role will initially be home-based with options for hybrid working moving forward. However, there will be a requirement to attend meetings at our head office in Birkenhead and potentially other locations as deemed necessary to fulfil your role and complete training. The office /depot is easily accessible from most transport links with just a short walk from Hamilton Square train station and local bus routes. Free parking is provided to staff either on site or nearby.

Head Of Financial Accounting Responsibilities

The overall purpose of the role will be to review financial and non-financial data relating to the group consolidation, which forms the basis for internal and external reporting. The role holder will be responsible for the Group consolidation process, co-ordination of balance sheet reconciliations and dispute resolution, along with preparation of the financial statements.

Head Of Financial Accounting Requirements

The individual must hold a recognised finance qualification or, if an appropriate level of experience can be demonstrated. Recent, significant experience in accounts production is essential. They must have the ability to identify and escalate risks and address issues associated with the production of financial information/the Annual Financial Statements. Knowledge of VAT and other tax as it applies within the Housing sector is desirable.

You will be someone with a positive and enthusiastic personality with a strong focus on financial statements, attention to detail and positively contribute to the role and team you work in. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential and to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must and ideally you will be fully proficient in all Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.
