Support Workers

Location: Bournemouth & Christchurch

Salary: Up to £19,171.79 per annum (including a geographical allowance of £1,051.00)

Hours: Mon - Sun (including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays). Waking nights may be required.

Closing date:23 December 2021

Please note due to the needs of our customers, some previous experience in working in care/support is preferable. Weekend availability, a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.

We are currently recruiting two experienced Support Workers to join our team in Christchurch!

About the role

You will be working in an environment which encourages a person-centred approach to enable customers to realise their hopes, dreams and aspirations. You will support a young lady in her late teens with complex mental health needs who lives in one of our flats. She is fun-loving, enjoys horseback riding, socialising and outdoor activities. She loves walking her dog, so it is important that you are comfortable around dogs.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Prompting on personal care
  • Laundry and housework
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Budgeting and shopping
  • Monitoring and/or administering medications.
  • Being active in the community (employment, study, volunteering and/or leisure activities)
  • Maintaining relationships with family and friends
  • Social activities
  • Accompanying the customer to appointments and/or on excursions
  • Working in partnership with other agencies and organisations.
