Hours: Various. Mon-Sun including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. May include waking nights.

Salary:£10.59 per hour (inclusive of applicable allowances and entitlements)

Place of work: Helston (Cornwall)

Please note a valid drivers license and access to own vehicle are essential for this role.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will help people with mental health problems or learning disabilities in their home or out in the community. This might include motivating someone to eat healthily or visit the gym, or providing support to a person with emotional problems.

You will be working in an environment which encourages a person-centred approach to enable customers to realise their hopes, dreams and aspirations. Providing support to individuals to meet their particular needs as identified within their support plan enabling them to make informed choices while promoting their privacy and dignity. Duties may include (but is not limited to):

  • Laundry and housework
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Budgeting and shopping
  • Monitoring and/or administering medications
  • Being active in the community (employment, study, volunteering and/or leisure activities)
  • Maintaining relationships with family and friends
  • Social activities
  • Support with finding employment
  • Accompanying customers to appointments and/or on excursions
  • Working in partnership with other agencies and organisations
