We are currently recruiting a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant to work within our friendly, supportive and hardworking team. This is temporary for 1 year with a view to becoming permanent dependent on the needs of a child with an EHCP.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and experience of working with students with SEN/SEMH needs, be caring, enthusiastic and committed with a dedicated attitude towards making a positive difference.

Key points:

  • SEN/SEMH experience required
  • Team Teach would be advantageous but not essential
  • Assisting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour
  • Demonstrating high levels of patience, a nurturing approach and empathy when dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Implementing lesson plans by ensuring that the children are engaged and cared for throughout
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, positive and enjoyable learning environment even when placed under pressure with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Work closely as part of a quick, efficient and consistent team with other members of teaching staff to provide the best care possible for the pupils
