Job Title: Project Manager – Supply ChainLocation: Rosyth, UK – Hybrid WorkingCompensation: Up to £58,102Role Type: Full time / 18-month Fixed Term ContractRole ID: SF49709At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Project Manager – Supply Chain at our Rosyth site.The roleAs a Project Manager – Supply Chain you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Type 31 Project will deliver 5 general purpose, global, adaptable and exportable frigates to the Royal Navy designed to undertake a range of operational tasks from maritime security, humanitarian aid and disaster relief and defence engagement to operation in a high threat environment. The Project is the pathfinder and cornerstone of the National Shipbuilding Strategy and will be delivered in an innovative manner at pace with all 5 ships to be in-service by Dec 2028.Day to day, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project functions, such as safety, scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources to achieve a project’s agreed objectives.- Deliver key project management functions in support of the overall project delivery
- Forecast costs and monitor and report against budget
- Maintain project cost and time estimates and ensure regular reviews are undertaken with each discipline to ensure they are accurate
- Manage under supervision the risk process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities and issues
- Document the scope, schedule, resource requirements, budget, risks, opportunities, issues, quality and HSE requirements for aspects of the project, including in the Project Management Plan.
- Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
- Application of core project management techniques
- Ideally recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
- Ideally awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g., FIDIC / NEC3/ JCT, etc.)
- Prior involvement in Project Management with demonstrable ability in the discipline.
- Ideally a bachelor’s degree in engineering/project/construction management or a related field
- A postgraduate qualification is also desirable, as is membership in a professional body
- Mandatory (or agreement to attain in 12 months)
- APM Project Management Qualifications (PMQ)
- APM Project Risk Management – Level 2
