Salary:£21,394 to £25,074 per annum depending on experience

Were looking fora Recovery Worker that is make a real differenceby joining our Integrated Substance Misuse Service within HMP Channings Wood.

As a Recovery Worker, you will be part of an established and passionate team, you willwork within the prison to support adult male prisoners with current or past problematic drug and alcohol use, promoting a culture of visible contagious recovery. As a Recovery Worker, no two days are the same and you will be autonomous in managing your own workload. We are looking for someone passionate about substance misuse recovery, with some experience working with individuals with complex issues.

As a Recovery Worker, Your Responsibilities Will Be
  • To provide recovery focused assessment, information, planning and guidance to prisoners.
  • Youll care coordinate a large caseload, supporting prisoners via a range of low to high intensity interventions including brief interventions, motivational interviewing, contingency management and cognitive behavioural coping skills.
  • You will deliver interventions in a range of settings including 1:1, group work, guided self-help and intensive structured programmes.
  • Youll work closely with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working, and access to appropriate services.

Most importantly, you will be someone with a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive, recovery focused attitude.

We are looking for someone ideally with experience in a similar role or environment who is looking for an opportunity in a chance to make a difference and a chance to use your transferable skills.

Additionally, You Will Have
  • Experience handling a caseload, undertaking assessments and working with individuals to develop, implement and review action plans.
  • An understanding of group working, group dynamics, and competent group work facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Experience managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands.
